No. 35 A Cappuccino….

Exact quote is: ” This morning , when I was having my cappuccino…”  This quote is from the movie “Standing Ovation”  Director & Writer are Stewart Raffill. Producers: Diane Kirman, James Brolin, Suzanna Nunez, William Lewis, Mario Macaluso, Gary Tex Brockette, Art Smith JR., and Al Spienza.  Keniworth Films Productions. Released in 2010.

If you ever just want to watch a cheesy movie where the theme takes the  next  left turn then abruptly -stops and double- backs with an illegal  U-turn right in front of a police car with a digruntled policeman …throw in a couple of pizzas , a wad of used gum and 6 shakes of pepper..This movie is it! What I really enjoyed was the brash street smart Joei Decarlo. She is actually the young female in the sketch above. She had a plan to find a person who had cheated her dad, along the way she attatched herself to this singing -dancing group of teenagers called the 5 Ovations. She found atypical gigs this is true. I think she was the one that cemented the group together. I also liked Alanna Polumbo this tiny gutsy take no- nonsense kid that sticks herself in front of the Wiggies-dancing on the boardwalk video. Dances unabashedly -exuberant and  full of self confidence. When asked who she was she says, ” Alana wannei bee…and I’m going to be!” Filled with attitude.  I loved all the young women singing and dancing  in the 5 Ovations – all of them are  so talented . It was just plain fun watching all the dance and singing scenes. They are all vying for a chance to with a national music video with prize money of one million dollars! The Wiggies are the “other” group that is the stereotypical thorn in the side for the 5 Ovations.  The Wiggies seemed more mean spirited . If they had only known that they could of won on their own merits of singing and dancing maybe they wouldn’t resorted to all their dirty tricks and mean words. Unfortanely, no on was teaching them team spirit and how to be gracious winners and losers.
